All you need to register these domains is a postal address and contact phone number.

Minimum registration period is 1 year, maximum registration period is 10 years.

There is no restriction on the number of domain names that may be licensed by a registrant.
Australian Domain Name Registration
.COM.AU and .NET.AU Domain Elegibility *

If you are a sole trader, have a state registered business name or an Australian registered
company, you are eligible to register a .au domain name.

When ordering you will need to supply either an ABN, ACN or State business number.

Your domain name does not need to match the business name registered to the business number.

Minimum and maximum registration period is 2 years which is industry standards.
It is not possible to license a domain name for a shorter or longer period.

There is no restriction on the number of domain names that may be licensed by a registrant.
To be eligible for a .com.au or .net.au, registrants must be:

an Australian registered company; or
-
trading under a registered business name in any Australian State or Territory; or
-
an Australian partnership or sole trader; or
-
a foreign company licensed to trade in Australia; or
-
an owner of an Australian Registered Trade Mark; or
-
an applicant for an Australian Registered Trade Mark; or
-
an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory; or
-
an Australian commercial statutory body.
.ORG.AU and .ASN.AU Domain Elegibility *

To be eligible for a .org.au, registrants must be:

an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory; or
-
a political party registered with the Australian Electoral Commission; or
-
a trade union or other organisation registered under the Workplace Relations Act 1996; or
-
a sporting or special interest club operating in Australia; or
-
a charity operating in Australia, as defined in the registrant’s constitution or other documents of incorporation; or
-
a non-profit organisation operating in Australia, as defined in the registrant’s constitution or other documents of incorporation.
.ID.AU Domain Elegibility *

To be eligible for a .id.au, registrants must be:

an Australian citizen; or
-
an Australian resident.
.id.au domain names must be:
-
an exact match, abbreviation or acronym of the registrant’s personal name; or
-
otherwise closely and substantially connected to the registrant, because the domain name:
-
(i) includes, or is derived from, one or more words of the registrant's personal name; or
-
(ii) is a name by which the registrant is commonly known (ie. a nickname).
